Fifteen-year career spanning all areas of television and video production. Wrote, produced, directed, videotaped, edited and promoted state and national award-winning series Adirondack Outdoors. Directed various program formats: sports, news, magazine, game shows, live performance, telethons, and public affairs, including nationally-distributed television program The Editors. Produced video projects for commercial clients, including an award-winning recruitment video for Plattsburgh State University. As Assistant General Manager of WBVT-TV, I supervised the Traffic, Marketing/Promotions, Operations, and Production departments as a cohesive working unit. Capable of producing video in all formats, including digital and non-linear. Proficient on many type of production systems including cameras, switchers, graphics platforms, still-stores, various editing controllers including A-B and digital, audio production, lighting, VTR operation, master control automation, systems routing, satellite distribution, and digital video effects.


Graphic Design

On-air and print graphic designer, utilizing computer platforms and traditional broadcasting tools to create both still and animated images. Projects included commercial work for clients, image campaign elements, developing the "look" of locally-produced television programs, and integrating graphic elements with the production design of the project; web design and implementation; print work; large-scale design and product design; CD and DVD design. Proficient with Photoshop, InDesign, Fireworks, Dreamweaver; familiar with both Mac and PC platforms. Art Director, managing a staff of graphic artists.

Managed four departments at WBVT-TV as an integrated whole: Marketing/Promotions, Operations, Production, and Traffic. As Assistant General Manager I brought together the divergent interests of these departments into a cohesive working unit. Developed and maintained six-figure budgets, product inventory, and facility supplies. Recruited, hired, fired, trained, and supervised employees at staff and middle management levels. Organized operating procedures, including shipping/receiving, inventory, accounts receivable and payable, personnel, technical infrastructure, and operations. Received recognition from International Who's Who of Professionals, Who's Who in Emerging Leaders, and Who's Who in Entertainment.



Competent with a wide range of state of the art technologies: broadcast, graphics, and proprietary systems (including computer O/S & software, analog and digital broadcast, operations, and production); became the primary staff trainer. Literate on all computer systems and software (IBM PC and Mac platforms). Managed the technical operations of a commercial television station.

Working knowledge of many types of software applications: desktop publishing, graphic design, networks, desktop video, word processing, database management, spreadsheets, e-mail, Internet, web authorship and Internet publishing, proprietary systems and networks. Examples include Word, WordPerfect, Quicken, Peachtree, Quattro Pro, Excel, Access, Illustrator, Pagemaker, Photoshop, Ami Pro, Ventura Publisher, Paint Shop Pro, Avid and Media 100 systems, Frontpage, Macromedia, Novell, and Summit Cable Systems. Possess understanding of DOS, all current Windows variants, and MAC OS environments.



Adept in the supervision of management, technical, production, operations, creative, and clerical staff. Able to mediate disputes and mete out discipline. Particularly skilled in discerning employee potential and managing the development of employee skills (including creative) through on-the-job training and regular performance reviews. Developed operational guidelines and job descriptions for WBVT-TV's entire employee structure.

Fully proficient with desktop publishing systems, including Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, and publishing-capable word processing software; familiar with both Mac and PC platforms.

Designed, authored, and produced complete web sites. Thorough working knowledge of HTML, Javascript, ISP protocol, FTP and site maintenance. Familiar with cgi and java implementation. Capable of designing and producing integrated sites, including writing, layout, graphic design, HTML and Javascript coding, and cgi and java integration.

Managed Broadcast Traffic department. Duties included program scheduling, tape inventory management, employee supervision, development of traffic procedures, systems management and integration, distributor relations, billing, and affidavits.



Designed and executed marketing campaigns for public and commercial broadcast organizations, including media, print, co-op, and on-air. Helped develop image campaign and facilitated the on-air implementation of all phases of WCFE-TV's Station Image Campaign; received national award from PBS for overall campaign excellence.
